Packing Industrial Equipment for International Shipment

Shipment planning begins before equipment is collected. Clear packing and handling requirements help the supplier and freight provider prepare an appropriate delivery plan for your order.

Confirm the shipment details

Ask for the number of packages, packed dimensions and gross weight. Identify fragile components, loose accessories and any manufacturer handling instructions. Share these details with the freight provider when comparing delivery options.

Agree on the packing scope

  • Confirm whether the offer includes standard packing or an additional crate or pallet.
  • Ask how accessories and documents will be identified.
  • Specify any receiving-site labelling or package reference requirements.
  • Confirm who will arrange collection and provide the final shipment information.

The supplier and freight provider should determine suitable packing and handling for the equipment and route. Confirm any destination or carrier requirements with the responsible parties before dispatch.

Keep the order and shipment aligned

Check that the packing list identifies the ordered items and quantities. Confirm which commercial, product and shipping documents are available and who is responsible for providing them. Record any special instructions in the agreed order scope.
